Signaturit Group drives the new era of Digital Identity in Europe with its eIDAS 2.0-ready Digital Identity Wallet
  • The EUDI Wallet will be the central tool of Europe’s digital identity framework and will begin to be deployed from 2026.
  • Signaturit Group leads pioneering European projects in verifiable credentials and digital identity wallets.
  • The company positions itself as a trusted partner for businesses and public administrations in the transition to eIDAS 2.0.

Barcelona – 4 November 2025 Europe is facing a decisive transformation with the entry into force of eIDAS 2.0, the new regulation establishing a harmonized framework for digital identity, which foresees the introduction of the EUDI Wallet from 2026. Although its use will be voluntary for citizens, Member States must have an operational EUDI Wallet in place by December 24, 2026. In addition, sectors such as public administrations, healthcare, utilities, and major digital platforms (including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon) will have to adapt their systems to enable authentication through this tool.

In this context, Signaturit Group, a leading player in digital trust services, presents its strategy to promote education and awareness around digital identity and its impact on European society and the economy. The EUDI Wallet will allow Europeans to store and share credentials securely and under their control, enabling everything from authentication in financial services to access to medical records, administrative procedures, or e-commerce transactions. These verifiable credentials (or Electronic Attribute Attestations) reduce fraud, streamline onboarding processes, and ensure regulatory compliance through a privacy-respecting model.

As one of the first Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSPs) in Europe to pilot wallet-based solutions, Signaturit Group participates in European projects such as EWC, WeBuild, and Trace4EU, and has developed its own digital identity wallet, fully aligned with European standards. Among its initiatives, the collaboration of Validated ID —a Signaturit Group company— with Catalan universities stands out, aimed at establishing a common system for academic data exchange (such as diplomas) in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the standards of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI). This initiative promotes the use of interoperable and scalable digital wallets within the education sector.

“For the first time, citizens and businesses will have real control over their digital identity — deciding what information to share and with whom. With eIDAS 2.0 and the EUDI Wallet, we move from a compliance-driven model to a strategic opportunity for greater efficiency, security, and trust. At Signaturit Group, we are ready to support companies and public administrations in this transition,” said Iván Basart, Director of eWallet and eSignature Spain at Signaturit Group.

The company is promoting projects across education, healthcare, and public administration, enabling students, patients, and citizens to manage their digital credentials securely and efficiently. With the countdown to 2027 already underway, Signaturit Group positions itself as the trusted partner of reference to lead the transition toward a secure, interoperable, and privacy-centric digital identity ecosystem
